So why should you work with Heathcote Recruitment Limited, either as a Client or as a Candidate?
Good question!
There are a lot of recruitment agencies out there - thousands of them - all claiming to be brilliant at what they do, promising to find you the best staff or best the job.
Don't get me wrong, there are some excellent agencies, but in my experience, there are not many who know what they're doing when it comes to working with engineers and engineering companies.
Most agencies don't do so well in the engineering sector because they are always having to deal with so many different types of vacancies, all in a high pressure environment. This pressure comes not only from their clients, but from their branch managers, their account managers (who pass on the work to the consultant after they have over-promised to get the work on in the first place), pressure from their Head office to meet their daily, weekly and monthly KPI targets and pressure from candidates who are applying for jobs they can't get to, have no experience in, and often have no intention of going to anyway even if they were considered.
Recruitment consultants work hard!
So it is no surprise a generalist recruiter will go for the quick and easy wins.
One minute they might be recruiting 10 warehouse persons, and at the same time recruiting a member of staff to work on reception desk for someone who hasn't shown up for work that morning, and then they are asked to recruit a skilled engineer to operate £1M machine dealing with highly expensive components.
Generalist recruiters simply don't have enough time (or experience) to recruit staff for engineering companies. It means spending time writing job ads that will attract the right candidate, reading dozens of CVs to match the skills required, asking the right questions at interview, discovering candidates strengths, experiences and attitude. It takes time and a generalist recruiter doesn't have the time available. (KPIs have to be hit!)
